It Oscillates

2026

Lorenzo Senni was never a raver. Growing up, he was fascinated by dance culture as he watched close friends engage with its neon-coloured chemical world. A teenage drummer within the local straight-edge punk-hardcore scene, he experienced the golden age of trance and gabber from the sidelines, captivated by its expressive intensity and ecstatic appeal. Senni became a kind of rave voyeur, studying hedonism from a distance while remaining deeply fascinated by its maximalist energy.

For Strange Rules, Senni presents a new original stereo composition played through two pairs of loudspeakers installed within the exhibition space. The work continues his exploration of electronic music language and the emotional mechanisms that shape listening, transforming sound into a perceptual structure capable of inhabiting and redefining space.
