BOOK LAUNCH & TALK

FRIDAY, 12 JUNE 2026

CASA DEI TRE OCI

-

Berggruen Arts & Culture and the Berggruen Institute Europe are proud to present the exhibition catalog for Joseph Kosuth’s "The-exchange-value-of-language-has-fallen-to-zero".

This launch event and the accompanying conversations will take place at Casa dei Tre Oci, Berggruen Institute Europe, which houses a selection of Kosuth's seminal works from the 1960s and 1970s alongside a newly commissioned, site-specific installation.

Centered on Kosuth's work, this gathering serves as a pretext to discuss the intersections of art, language, and philosophy. A live art dimension from Gare St Lazare Ireland (GSLI) joins this conversation through discussions on Samuel Beckett, an author to whom Kosuth has also dedicated a series of his work.

Concurrently, Beckett’s novel How It Is is being shown at Palazzo Diedo by GSLI, recognized leaders in presenting Beckett’s prose to the stage through innovative, collaborative theatre. This performance features a special commission by artist Michael Craig-Martin as design collaborator.

The conversations at Casa dei Tre Oci will feature interventions by Christina Kennedy (Senior Curator and Head of Collections at IMMA), Lorenzo Marsili, and Mario Codognato.

Free admission until capacity is met.
