What does a benevolent and fruitful collaboration with artificial intelligence look and sound like? Thirty years ago, Lynn Hershman Leeson began a project that sought to examine the ways that machines could help explain the present through visions of the future, and to propose new models of artistic invention. The results have been eerily prescient and technologically groundbreaking.
